TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT


Call for Abstracts – Deadline extended to: 11 November 2025

Abstract submission for the 6th Global Conference on Myositis (GCOM), to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, 23–26 March 2026, is open. To participate in the selection process, please submit your abstract no later than 11 November 2025.

Abstract Submission is OPEN!

  • Each participant may submit up to two abstracts.
  • Registration payment must be completed upon notification of abstract acceptance.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT

SUBMISSION RULES & GUIDELINES

Before you begin, please ensure you have prepared the following:

1. Title, Authors, and Affiliations

  • Title: Minimum 15 and maximum 300 characters; use lowercase and bold
  • Authors: Full names (first name, middle initial, last name), separated by commas
  • Affiliations: Institution, Town, Country

2. Abstract Body (Maximum 400 words)

Divide your abstract into the following clearly marked sections:

  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgements
  • Keywords ( up to 3)
  • References (if applicable)

3. Language and Format

  • All abstracts must be written and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling suitable for publication.
  • Define all abbreviations upon first use.
  • No figures or photos are allowed, only text.
  • Abstracts that do not comply with these guidelines will be returned.

4. Abstract Topics

Select one topic from the following list:

  • Genetic and Environmental Risk Factors
  • Extra-Muscular Organ Involvement
  • Juvenile Myositis
  • Cancer and Myositis
  • Classification of Inflammatory Myopathies
  • Inclusion Body Myositis
  • Biomarkers and Imaging
  • Therapeutic Advances
  • Clinical Trials
  • Exercise and Rehabilitation
  • Other

Presentation and Publication

  • Each participant may submit a maximum of two abstracts.
  • All accepted abstracts (oral, poster, and online poster presentations) will be published as a supplement in Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology and will be available online and in print after the conference.
  • Abstracts will be evaluated by the iMyoS Scientific Committee.
  • Accepted abstracts will be assigned as:
    • Oral presentation
    • Poster presentation
    • Online poster presentation

Presentation Requirements

  • Oral presentations must be presented in person during the assigned session (in-person attendance strongly preferred).
  • Poster presentations will be displayed on-site. Presenting authors must be available during the designated poster session.
  • All accepted posters must also be uploaded online as a PowerPoint file (.ppt/.pptx) with a voice-recorded commentary (max 3 minutes). These will be featured on the official conference website.
