Dr. Hanna Kim is an attending board-certified pediatric rheumatologist and Staff Clinician at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. She is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at George Washington University.
She completed her medical training at the University of California Irvine and pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center/George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She then went on to complete her pediatric rheumatology fellowship at duPont Hospital for Children/Thomas Jefferson University in Wilmington, Delaware, NIAMS/NIH in Bethesda, Maryland., and Children’s National Health System in DC. She was a Lawrence Shulman scholar in the NIAMS Pediatric Translational Research Branch.
She is actively involved in a range of organizations including the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), the Childhood Arthritis Rheumatology Research Alliance, International Myositis Assessment and Clinical Studies Group, and the Myositis Clinical Trials Consortium. Dr. Kim is recognized as a leader of juvenile dermatomyositis research both in the US and internationally with many publications, international presentations, and studies in JDM.
As a physician scientist, Dr. Kim’s research is focused on juvenile myositis including clinical and translational research focused on disease pathogenesis, disease activity-associated biomarkers. She also leads clinical trials of novel treatments in juvenile myositis.
