Kendrea Garand, PhD, CScD, CCC-SLP, BCS-S is an Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been a practicing medical speech-language pathologist for over 15 years, and holds board certification in swallowing disorders (dysphagia). She is the current Chair of the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (AB-SSD), and Editor-in-Chief for Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups journal. Her scholarly contributions related to swallowing and swallowing disorders have been published in peer-reviewed journals including Muscle & Nerve, Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology, and American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology.
