Liza McCann

Dr Liza McCann is a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Hospital where she has worked since 2005, and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool, UK. She has a research interest in juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM). She is past Chair of the Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS) JDM Working Group and sits on the Steering Committees of the Myonet Global Myositis network and the UK Juvenile Dermatomyositis Cohort and Biomarker Study. Her work has included the development of an internationally accepted dataset for myositis and development of evidence based guidelines. Current work includes a project evaluating the impact of nailfold capillaroscopy in clinical practice for juvenile dermatomyositis and a project determining long-term disease outcomes.
