Rheumatologist at Unidade Local de Saúde Viseu Dão Lafões and clinical researcher at Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine, Portugal. Clinical and research interests focus on idiopathic inflammatory myopathies and Sjögren’s disease, with particular expertise in myositis phenotyping, outcome measures, and ultrasound-guided diagnostic procedures, including muscle biopsies. Actively engaged in national and international collaborative research, including registry development and clinical trials, and contributed to the successful bid for Lisbon to host the Global Conference on Myositis 2026. Member of the International Myositis Society (iMyos), the International Myositis Assessment and Clinical Studies Group (IMACS), and the core group of the Myositis Clinical Trial Consortium (MCTC).
