Naoko Okiyama, MD, PhD is Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology, Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences, Institute of Science Tokyo (IST), Japan. She received her MD degree from Yamanashi Medical University, Japan, in 1999, and her Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2009, which has since been reorganized as IST. She served as a visiting fellow at Dermatology Branch, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S.A. from 2011 to 2014, and subsequently as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tsukuba, Japan, from 2014 to 2021. She then assumed her current position. Her research focuses on dermatology and immunology, with particular emphasis on autoimmune and inflammatory skin disease, focusing in dermatomyositis, graft-versus-host disease, and atopic dermatitis. She is also actively involved in the education of dermatology and interprofessional medical training.
