Olivier Boyer, MD, PhD, immunologist, has a position as a Full Professor and currently works at the Rouen University hospital (CHUR) in Normandie, France. Since 2005, he is Full Professor of Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine of Rouen. He has been Director of the Institute for Research and Innovation in Biomedicine (2013–2016) and Vice-President of Normandie University (2016-2021). Currently, he is the Director of Inserm U1234 research laboratory, the Head of the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Biotherapy at CHUR and the Director of the PAn’THER Center of Excellence of the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS). He is an associate Board Member of the International Myositis Society (iMyos) and Board Member of FOCIS, the Multinational Chair of the FOCIS Centers of Excellence committee, and Vice-chair of the Education Committee of the International Union of Immunology Societies (IUIS). His research and teaching are Immunology and Biotherapies (myositis research, cell therapy, gene therapy), including experimental work and clinical trials. He has co-authored more than 150 international scientific publications. Olivier Boyer has elucidated some key pathophysiological pathways in different forms of inflammatory myopathies and developed unique animal models for better understanding disease mechanisms and evaluating candidate therapies.
